These
excellent quality and spacious two bedroom apartments are situated on top
of a small hill just above the village resort of Makriyialos that sits
along side the beach on the beautiful south east coast.
Their
elevated position means they enjoy magnificent sea views and a tranquil
location but also easy access to the beach, tavernas and the resorts many
facilities. Just ten minutes on foot will bring you to Makriyialos’
little harbour where boat trips depart during the high summer months for
the stunning white sand beaches of Koufonisi Island and where fishing
boats bring in their catch of the day to serve in the handful of tavernas
that sit picturesquely next to the water over looking the boats. |
Makriyialos’
long beach starts alongside the harbour, running the length of the resort,
and stretched behind are the resorts many facilities: cafes, mini-markets, a
bank or two, a selection of small shops and a further wide choice of
tavernas. Makriyialos is an ideal location for a relaxing holiday but it also makes a great base for getting out and about and discovering the regions incredible richness and diversity. Hidden deserted beaches, wild rugged coastlines, traditional and timeless hill villages are all very much part of the unspoilt beauty of eastern Crete. The island’s long history can be discovered amongst the stones at the Minoan palace of Zakros and the 14th century monastery of Toplou and present day Crete can be seen in the nearby attractive harbour towns of Ierapetra and Sitia. |
These
well positioned apartments are situated one above the other in one building.
Each has two bedrooms (a double and a twin), one bathroom, and an open plan,
well equipped, kitchen and living area. The comfortable living area of the
upper apartment leads out to a spacious balcony and the ground floor has a
large terrace that also leads from the living area. The wonderful and
uninterrupted sea views can be enjoyed equally from the terraces of each
apartment as well as from the beautiful swimming pool. Both apartments also
