VILLA AFRATI, Kokkino Horio

   2 - 6 Personen. privé zwembad. Incl. huurauto B

Villa Afrati is a newly built three bedroom private villa that’s been designed in an attractive traditional style with natural stone. It is set amongst pretty gardens that are enclosed by walls, also made with a natural local stone, that ensure a high degree of privacy. The inviting swimming pool is set amongst these lovely gardens, which also feature some wonderful old olive trees and a shady pergola, ideal for 'al fresco' dining. The interior is bright and spacious and fitted with all mod cons. Two of the bedrooms, (a twin and a double), are situated on an upper level. They both have ensuite bathrooms and enjoy a shared balcony with sea views. The third bedroom (a twin) and a third bathroom are on the ground level as is the fully fitted kitchen/diner and the living area that is again attractively styled in a traditional way with wooden beamed ceilings, a lovely stone fireplace and ‘Cretan style’ furnishings.
The villa is well-situated just 1 km from the village of Plaka, which offers a couple of local tavernas and a mini-market, and just 2 kms from the coastal village resort of Almeritha where you can find most facilities, (including some water sports), you will need during stay. The bay here is shallow and sandy and the water translucent and inviting and the tavernas that line the shore here offer a wide choice of culinary delights that include Cretan cuisine, international dishes and, of course, locally caught fresh fish.
We think you will find it hard to leave the tranquility of the villa and the delights close by but if you do decide to venture further you will find there’s no end of places to discover in this picturesque region. The atmospheric Venetian harbour towns of Chania and Rethymnon are lovely day or evening. The colourful fresh water Lake of Kournas is a cool retreat between exploring the many traditional villages in the region. The Roman and Hellenistic site of Aptera combined with the views from this tiny hill village is well worth a visit. The 12th and 14th century working Monasteries of the Akrotiri offer tranquility and history. And the longest Gorge in Europe, the 18km Samaria Gorge, is a fantastic opportunity to discover Crete’s outstanding beauty and wildness
